Amazon MGM has beefed up the comedy quotient for his holiday feature Clashing Through the Snow.
Comedians Andrew Schulz and Zarna Garg, fashion designer and celebrity personality Tan France as well as comedy actor P. J. Byrne have joined the feature, which is currently in production with Carlson Young in the helmer’s chair.
Wonderland Sound and Vision partners McG and Mary Viola and Lena Roklin of Luber Roklin Entertainment are producing.
Penned by Daniel Mackey and Rebecca Ewing, who previously wrote Netflix hit Love Hard, the story is described as a Planes, Trains and Automobiles for the Gen Z generation.
It centers on two rival co-workers at a book publisher who are forced to travel cross country when bad weather grounds all available flights.
Michelle Randolph plays a creative free-thinking editor while Christopher Briney is a type A, commerce-focused editor. Lukas Gage and Julia Fox are also on the call sheet.
Schulz will play Walter, a janitor with a close personal connection to Briney whose presence becomes emotionally significant during the journey.
Garg will play Gail, whose unexpected guidance steers Randolph in a pivotal direction during the trip.
France will play Aidan Sullivan, a book agent who crosses paths with Hannah and becomes part of a key publishing thread in the story.
Byrne will play Jeremy, a man the duo encounter as their travel plans begin to unravel.
Schulz is one of the biggest names currently in the stand-up comedy world. His last stand-up special, Life, debuted on Netflix last year and, acting wise, he recently wrapped production on Paramount andLegendary’s upcoming Street Fighter film. He will also be seen in the upcoming third season of Netflix comedy series Tires.
Garg, who leans into her Indian American upbringing in her work, is a stand-up comedian, writer, and producer whose debut special One in a Billion premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Her follow-up special, Practical People Win, which hit Hulu last year, debuted at No. 2 in its opening week. She is also the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir This American Woman. Garg recently made her acting debut in the SXSW-premiered indie A Nice Indian Boy.
France is a designer, New York Times best-selling author, actor, producer, and television personality known for his role in Netflix’s Emmy-winning series Queer Eye, which recently concluded with its tenth and final season. Among his credits are appearances on Deli Boys, Big Mouth, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Princess Power.
Byrne may be best known for his scene-stealing work in The Wolf of Wall Street, Babylon, and Horrible Bosses. In recent times he appeared in A Complete Unknown, did a stint on The Boys, and co-stars on USA series The Rainmaker.
Schulz is repped by CAA, manager Dov Mamann and Yorn Levine. Garg is repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson. Tan France is repped by UTA, Metro Public Relations and Manatt, Phelps. Byrne is repped by Artium Talent and Untitled Entertainment.
