Chappell Roan doubles down on innocence in security debacle with Jude Law’s daughter

Chappell Roan issued a new statement after her security guard made Jude Law’s preteen daughter cry — and doubled down on her innocence.

“Chappell holds her own teams to the highest standards,” a rep for the singer said Monday, according to the Daily Mail.

The Grammy winner, 28, has “zero tolerance for aggressive behavior toward her or her fans.”

The spokesperson added, “Chappell was not aware of any interaction between this mother/daughter and a third-party security office.

“She did not see them at breakfast in her hotel, as she said in her video,” the statement continued. “She did not direct her personal security or anyone on her team to interact with them.”

Roan insisted as much in an Instagram video posted over the weekend.

“I’m just gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard, who is not my personal security,” the songwriter told her followers on Sunday.

Roan claimed she “didn’t even see a woman and child” while having breakfast in her São Paulo hotel.

She clarified that she does “not hate children” and Ada, 11, “did not deserve” what happened.

The little one, notably, was approached by an “aggressive” security guard after she “passed by the singer’s table, looked over to confirm it was her, smiled and went back to the table with her mom,” according to her stepfather — and Brazilian soccer star — Jorginho Frello.

The athlete, 34, wrote that Ada “got super scared and cried a lot.”

Her mother, Catherine Harding, challenged Roan in a lengthy Instagram video on Sunday, one day after her husband called the performer out on his Story.

“I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure, I guess, that the people who work for you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf,” she pointed out.

Harding, who welcomed Ada in 2015 with Law, noted, “Would he do that if he didn’t have that authority to do so? I don’t know. If he does, then obviously, that’s a big problem because then he’s representing her in a way she doesn’t want to be represented.”

Roan was banned from the Todo Mundo no Rio music event in Rio de Janeiro by the mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, as headlines swirled.
