Ex ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Pat Sajak re-emerges in home video after retirement

Former “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak had fans feeling the nostalgia after he resurfaced online in a home video.

Pat collaborated with his daughter Maggie — who currently serves as the “Wheel of Fortune” social correspondent — for a TikTok video posted on Feb. 28 in which the 79-year-old offered an impeccable lip syncing performance to Tame Impala’s “Dracula.”

He opened the clip walking down a hallway, singing along to his part of the song before the camera panned over to Maggie.

The father-daughter duo closed out the post by posing alongside each other.

Maggie captioned the post: “got him again. thank goodness he likes @Tame Impala.”

Of course, fans couldn’t contain their excitement upon seeing the retired star and quickly gathered in the comments to share some kind words.

“omg !! pat looks amazing. I miss you man, for 35 years I watched you every night pretty much. thank you for all the years of joy,” one follower added.

Pat announced in June 2023 that he would be retiring after he closed out the show’s 41st season after four decades.

“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months,” he continued. “Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)” the game show host said in an X statement at the time.

“It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade,” the TV veteran said.

“And I’ve always felt that the privilege came with a responsibility to keep this daily half hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game,” he continued.

While he stepped down as host, Suzanne Prete previously told Variety that Pat would stick around for at least three more years as he “agreed to continue as a consultant on the show” after he closed his final season.

Pat began hosting the syndicated game show when it made its nighttime debut in 1983. He also hosted the daytime edition from 1981 to 1989.
