Kevin Shivers has been named co-president at The Team, the agency announced on Tuesday, one of the most notable executive developments since it rebranded from Wasserman.
As co-president, Shivers will work closely with The Team music president Lee Anderson to oversee the agency’s music department. Shivers is a renowned booking agent, with a roster that includes Tyler, the Creator, Kid Cudi, Leon Thomas, Vince Staples and Kali Uchis among others. He came to the agency last year after departing WME.
“Kevin is one of the most respected and beloved voices in our business. From day one of joining our company, he has made positive impacts through mentorship, strategic input, and a constant drive to improve our business, ” Anderson said in a statement. “He brings a rare combination of instinct, experience, selflessness and integrity to everything he does. As we look to the future, there is no one better to help lead this group forward.”
As Shivers added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and grateful to be stepping into this role at such an important moment for the company. What makes this place special is the people — the level of care, ambition, and belief in one another. We’re just getting started, and I’m excited to continue building alongside this team and our clients around the world.”
As Shivers loosely acknowledged, his promotion comes at a pivotal time for his agency as The Team is currently up for sale following the scandal that surrounded founder Casey Wasserman over his inclusion in the Epstein Files. Wasserman announced his intent to sell in a memo to staff back in February, after several high profile artists including Chappell Roan said they’d leave the agency.
In March, Wasserman officially rebranded as “The Team.”
“For 24 years, this company has been shaped by our work, our people and our unifying belief in the power of Sports, Music and Entertainment,” a message read of the rebrand reveal at the time. “That philosophy remains the foundation of who we are – and where we are going. We go forward as we always have: Together.”
