The “Scream” series may be popular, but the far-Left demanded fans stay home for the seventh film in the saga.
Why?
The newest “Scream” installment fired actress Melissa Barrera early in the production cycle for her ghoulish Middle East comments. She took anti-Israel animus to a new level.
Boycott “Scream,” the pro-Palestinian Left cried.
What happened next? “Scream 7” earned a whopping $64 million in its opening frame, guaranteeing an eighth film in the franchise.
Some boycott.
Now, far-Left musician Moby is demanding a new, improved boycott. Moby, née Richard Melville Hall, wants Americans to stop supporting not just all things Trump but ICE in toto.
He then says to vote, “not just in the upcoming midterms, although that’s very important, but in all of the special elections that happen throughout the year.” He also advises to “stop supporting the scumbag corporations who support Trump and ICE. We all know who they are. Boycott them.”
Good luck.
Most Americans likely aren’t familiar with the connections between corporations and immigration enforcement. Plus, many people don’t know who Moby is at this point.
The 60-year-old musician had a brush with fame in the late ’90s, courtesy of his hit album, “Play.” He hasn’t been a signifcant cultural force for some time.
And he’s not the only celebrity demanding an ICE-themed boycott.
Chelsea Handler, who traded her boozy, self-deferential shtick for far-Left activism, listed some of the companies allegedly tied to ICE via her Instagram account.

She also shared this call to arms, calling out Spotify in the process.
We the people have the ability to impact all the companies that have been supporting an organization meant to terrorize us and rip families apart. Scroll for the list of companies I have boycotted and who continue to see their bottom lines shrink. All these companies care about is money. Old habits are hard to break, but we can do this for the sake of not losing another person’s life in the name of what, exactly? Profit. Also, Spotify’s contract with ICE has simply run out. We want them to not renew, so it’s not a win until it’s a win.
The impact of Handler’s boycott movement, and that of Moby’s demand, remains to be seen.
