Natasha Lyonne Responds to Report She Was Escorted Off Airplane

Natasha Lyonne has responded to a report that she was escorted off an airplane after attending the Los Angeles premiere of the HBO series Euphoria on Tuesday night.

On Thursday morning, the New York Post‘s Page Six reported an eyewitness account of the Poker Face star and multi-hyphenate making a scene aboard a Delta red-eye back to New York after Tuesday night’s premiere event. Lyonne joined the cast of Euphoria for season three, which premieres Sunday night, and the event was held earlier that night at Hollywood’s TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Lyonne, reportedly still in her sheer outfit worn at the premiere, seemed “out of it in a first class seat, and when flight attendants asked her to close her laptop and fasten her seatbelt for takeoff, she didn’t respond,” reported the outlet. After “numerous flight attendants repeatedly tried to get the star to follow their commands,” the plane returned to the gate and the star was told “the plane is not going anywhere until you come off it.” Lyonne reportedly went to the bathroom and eventually exited the plane.

The incident delayed the plane a little over an hour.

On Thursday afternoon, Lyonne took to her social media to address the report, which had begun to circulate throughout the day.

“My heart is with all the unpaid TSA agents at our airports,” she wrote. “Sure was looking forward to speaking honestly with @DrewBarrymore yesterday but guess wasn’t in the cards. Who owns page six/New York Post now again?”

Lyonne had been a scheduled guest on Wednesday’s The Drew Barrymore Show, which tapes in New York. Her Euphoria role, meanwhile, has been kept under wraps.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to a rep for Lyonne to comment.

Lyonne, who has been public about her addiction history and recovery, revealed in a tweet in January that she had relapsed and was no longer sober. Last month, she thanked fans for their support amid her recovery journey, writing on March 9, “Proud to report this kid is doing a whole lot better and back on her feet. Want to thank our recovery communities and the fans who stood by and were so supportive. Aiming to keep the journey somehow private, but look forward to sharing my experience, strength and hope as makes sense.”
