Nicole Curtis explains racial slur use after ‘Rehab Addict’ cancellation

Nicole Curtis blamed her viral racial slur use — which got her HGTV show, “Rehab Addict,” cancelled last month — on being a boy mom.

The former reality star appeared on “The Breakfast Club” Tuesday for her first interview since February’s hot mic moment and insisted she meant to say “fart digger” and “fart knocker.”

The 49-year-old noted that she isn’t allowed to “swear on [her] show,” adding, “I’ve made up these crazy words. … Do you have boys? Boys talk about farts all the time.”

The former reality star insisted she had been trying to say “fart digger” and “fart knocker” in last month’s viral clip.

She claimed, “I don’t have a rhyme or reason of the words that I make up. I say nonsense stuff all the time.

“I’m off the cuff,” Curtis told Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy. “I’m not scripted.”

The co-hosts doubted the explanation and called Curtis out for how “naturally” the slur emerged in the clip.

Charlamagne, 47, asked why Curtis was “digging for farts” and railed against her repeatedly bringing up living in Detroit.

“So your best friends are Black and you live in the hood?” the “Guy Code” alum asked. “What are you trying to prove here when you keep saying you’re from Detroit? … I’m trying to figure out what you are trying to say.”

He further slammed Curtis for “coming to a Black radio show and trying to explain” the scandal.

The home restoration expert, who isn’t “afraid of confrontation,” replied, “You’re right. I came here to have an open conversation and I didn’t have to. … I didn’t come on here to prove myself.”

When Charlamagne requested Curtis “apologize to Black people” directly to the camera, Curtis told viewers she does “not condone” the slur — and asked those praising her language to not use her as a “poster child for some bulls–t.”

Reps for Curtis and HGTV did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

After RadarOnline released footage of Curtis saying the N-word in February — and immediately requesting someone off-camera “kill that” — HGTV denounced the “hurtful and disappointing” moment.

“Accordingly, we have removed the series from all HGTV platforms,” the network’s statement read. “We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across our content and our workplace.”

Curtis, for her part, told TMZ, “The word in question is wrong and not part of my vocabulary and never has been.”

In her subsequent social media apology, which has since been deleted, the “Rehab Addict Rescue” alum claimed the clip had been “stolen, manipulated [and] edited.”

She continued, “I make no excuse for this. I am not a victim. Nothing I say or do will take that moment … away. I know it was wrong. This will never happen again.”
