The A-list stars and others in attendance at Sunday night’s 2026 Oscars were treated to snack boxes placed under their seats.
A tradition for the annual ceremony celebrating film, the boxes placed under seats included a bag of popcorn, a bottle of water and either Mike and Ike’s or Junior Mints. Trail Mix was available in the lobby.
Host Conan O’Brien left a note in the box alongside a sketch of himself and note that read, “I hope you enjoy this Conan O’Brien ‘Moderately Happy Meal.’ These snacks may not look like much but in any movie theater they would run you $85. Good luck tonight, have fun, and remember that loud, enthusiastic laughter is good for your health and my ego.”
When Conan O’Brien hosted last year’s show, guests were given swedish fish, a pretzel and water.
Snack boxes have been an ongoing tradition for the anticipated ceremony. In 2024, four-time host Kimmel enlisted help from actor Adam Shapiro’s Shappy Pretzel Co.
During Sunday’s show, One Battle After Another was named best picture with Paul Thomas Anderson’s film winning six Oscars in total. Anderson won the award for best directing and best adapted screenplay, marking his first-ever Oscar wins. Sean Penn, who was absent from the ceremony, won best supporting actor for One Battle After Another, setting a record with his win. One Battle also landed an Oscar for best film editing for Andy Jurgensen.
Meanwhile, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners took home four Oscars. Michael B. Jordan was named best actor, while Coogler won best original screenplay for his film. Ludwig Göransson won for best original score and best cinematography went to Autumn Durald Arkapaw, who became the first woman to ever win the award.
During the show, star-studded lineup of presenters, including past winners, past nominees and even past hosts, took the stage including last year’s acting winners: Mikey Madison, Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña.
The 98th edition of the awards, hosted by O’Brien for the second year in a row, aired live on ABC and Hulu from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. See the star-studded red carpet arrivals and the full winners list.
