EXCLUSIVE: Laura Dern (Is This Thing On?), Simone Ashley (Bridgerton), Levon Hawke (Blink Twice), Mitra Jouhari (The Big Sick), and Gabby Windey (The Traitors) have signed on to star alongside Molly Gordon, Allie Levitan and Emma Mackey in Peaked, the new comedy that Theater Camp alum Gordon is set to direct for A24, from her script written with Levitan.
No word on the roles to be played by the new cast members. Slated to begin production next month, the film follows the two girls who traumatized you in high school as they try to relive their glory days at their 10-year reunion.
A24 is set to finance the project and produce alongside David Hinojosa, Zach Nutman and Gordon, with Levitan exec producing.
An Academy Award winner most recently seen starring opposite Will Arnett in Bradley Cooper’s divorce dramedy Is This Thing On?, as well as in the Apple series Palm Royale, Dern is represented by CAA and Untitled.
An English actress who broke out with roles on the shows Sex Education and Bridgerton, Ashley has more recently appeared in Apple’s Academy Award-nominated F1 and will be seen coming up in The Devil Wears Prada 2. She is repped by CAA, Independent Talent Group, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Myman Greenspan Fox.
Coming off of A24’s Marty Supreme, Hawke’s other credits include Blink Twice, Wildcat, and The Crowded Room. Next to be seen in Focus Features’ Girls Like Girls, out in theaters on June 19, he is repped by CAA, Jonathan Sanders & Co, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
Jouhari has previously been seen in films & TV projects like The Bear, The Big Sick, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, History of the World: Part II, Miracle Workers, and Search Party. As a voice actor, her recent credits include Digman!, Bob’s Burgers, Big Mouth, and Clone High. She is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
Windey broke out as a cast member on Season 26 of The Bachelor before going on to co-headline Season 19 of The Bachelorette. Subsequently, she’s competed on Dancing with the Stars and won the third season of Peacock’s hit reality competition series The Traitors. Previously announced as making her screen acting debut in The Body, Netflix’s forthcoming coming-of-age drama series from Quinn Shephard, she is repped by UTA, Ocean Avenue, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
