Ten years after Deadpool arrived in theaters and broke the rules of the comic book genre, two of its players are back together.
Filmmaker Tim Miller has tapped actor Stefan Kapičić to join the cast of his upcoming, high-concept movie starring Keanu Reeves. The Warner Bros. sci-fi action film is currently in production in the Dominican Republic, and while plot details are not available, THR previously reported the Ian Shorr-penned script has shades of the Tom Cruise time-loop movie Edge of Tomorrow and the Blake Lively shark survival movie The Shallows.
Kapičić’s role details were not disclosed, though he may play an antagonist to Reeves’ character.
Kapičić played the metal skinned mutant Colossus in Deadpool, reprising with an expanded role for Deadpool 2 and a small part in Deadpool & Wolverine. He also worked on an episode of Miller’s sci-fi Netflix series Love, Death & Robots, with other credits including Better Call Saul, portraying one of the men who helped build the meth superlab made famous in Breaking Bad, and the Dracula feature The Last Voyage of The Demeter.
As for the untitled Miller movie, it has a release date of Aug. 13, 2027 and also stars Callie Cooke, Steven Waddington, Nicholas Duvernay, Abraham Popoola, Anastasia Sofonav and Bobby Holland Hanton.
Producers include Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett and John Zaozirny, with Scott Lumpkin executive producing.
Kapičić is repped by CESD, Crimson Media, and BMZ Law
