Stephen Curry And Halle Berry Team On New Unscripted First Look Deal

EXCLUSIVE: Halle Berry and Holly Jeter’s HalleHolly banner has partnered with Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton’s Unanimous Media on a first-look unscripted deal. The partnership will focus on empowering women-led projects and championing stories rooted in authenticity, purpose and aspiration through character-driven storytelling.

With a mission to amplify women-led and inclusive stories, HalleHolly will support the shift in narratives onscreen and behind the camera alongside Unanimous Media. Sharla Sumpter-Bridgett, Chief Content Officer of Unanimous Media, will work closely with Berry and Jeter as the companies collaborate on telling women-led stories for all audiences. Sumpter-Bridgett was responsible for introducing Berry and Curry, as Curry continues to use his and Unanimous Media’s platform to support creatives he admires across the entertainment industry.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with HalleHolly, a partnership that allows us the opportunity to collaborate on developing new and exciting storytelling opportunities for both of our companies,” said Erick Peyton and Stephen Curry of Unanimous Media. “Together, we’re committed to bringing fresh, underrepresented narratives to the screen. Most importantly, we’re excited to continue championing stories that celebrate strength, creativity and resilience.”

Curry had been looking at various people to partner with on this venture and given Berry’s track record, both on and off the screen, the fit seemed like the perfect match for both companies. By bringing their audiences and perspectives together, the partnership is rooted in a shared belief in the power of media to inspire, uplift, and create lasting impact.

“It is rare to find partnership with such like-minded people. Holly and I are incredibly aligned with Unanimous in our commitment to integrity in crafting bold, innovative stories and pushing boundaries in order to open hearts and minds,” said Berry. “Stepping into the unscripted space together feels like a natural extension of who we are and how we’ve built our company as multi-hyphenates. We couldn’t be happier about linking arms with this wonderful group.”

Founded by four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry and multi-creative Erick Peyton in 2018, Unanimous Media is a multimedia company rooted in the mission to develop, create and distribute compelling family, faith and sports-based content across a range of mediums — from film to podcasts and publishing. The company has a multi-year, Global Talent Partnerships agreement with Comcast NBCUniversal – the first deal of its kind for the media giant. Most recently, Unanimous Media released Allen Iv3rson, a three-part docuseries that takes you inside the life and mind of basketball icon Allen Iverson, which debuted at #1 on Prime Video.

Previous projects include Mr. Throwback for Peacock, a mockumentary marking Curry’s acting debut, Stephen Curry: Underrated, Apple TV+’s documentary about Curry’s rise to prominence, the Academy Award-winning The Queen of Basketball, Holey Moley on ABC and more.

Most recently, they produced the animated pic Goat, in which Curry also voiced a character.

HalleHolly was formed in 2022 based on the partnership between Oscar-winning actress Berry and former WME Partner Jeter. Since inception, they have put together a diverse slate of film and TV projects with a character-first focus, and mission to tell commercial, provocative stories that start conversations and elevate complex women and people of color both in front of and behind the camera.

HalleHolly first produced the Lionsgate thriller Never Let Go, directed by Alex Aja, with 21 Laps. Up next, Jeter and Berry will produce Fleur, alongside Plot Twist and Killer Films, written and to be directed by Ellie Foumbi. The duo will also produce the Apple Original Films adaptation of the best-selling novel, The President is Missing, written and produced by Bill Clinton and James Patterson, alongside RK Films, in which Berry will star as ‘President Duncan’.

HalleHolly recently expanded into scripted television production, selling shows to FX, HBO and Peacock, including the horror/thriller, The Patient, adapted from the Jasper DeWitt novella by Laeta Kalogridis, in which Berry will star, which HalleHolly will produce with Maximum Effort and Vertigo. Berry also stars in Bart Layton’s Amazon film, Crime 101, alongside Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan and Monica Barbaro which was also bowed this weekend.

Unanimous Media is represented by Midnight Dawn, Yorn Levine, CAA and WME for conscripted content opportunities. Berry is represented by WME, Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole and Range Media Partners.
