Sydney Sweeney shared a supportive message for military members overseas, as she revealed her own brother has been deployed.
The “Euphoria” star posted a picture of her younger brother, Trent, wearing his camouflage uniform and a helmet as he smiled at her in an Instagram Story Tuesday.
“Receiving calls from my bro always make me happy when he’s deployed,” Sydney captioned the pic, presumably taken from a video call between the two.
She continued, “Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service :)”
Trent, 25, is in the US Air Force. He was promoted to a staff sergeant in August 2025, he previously shared on Instagram.
Trent also poked fun at his sister’s American Eagle jeans ad campaign controversy at the time, sharing an Instagram Story of his official certification of his promotion while joking, “It’s them good jeans 🥸.”
It’s unclear whether Trent’s deployment is related to the current war in Iran.
Sydney, a registered Republican since June 2024, has previously made headlines for her political views — particularly after some accused her American Eagle ad campaign last summer of being “Nazi propaganda” that praised her blond hair and blue eyes.
The actress, 28, reacted to some nicknaming her “MAGA Barbie” in an interview with Cosmopolitan published in January.
“I’ve never been here to talk about politics,” she said. “I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of.”
Sweeney insisted she wasn’t a “hateful” person and said there was “no winning” when it comes to addressing politically charged things about herself.
“I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am,” she shared. “I can’t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for.”
The Syrn founder noted she’s “not a political person.”
“I’m in the arts. I’m not here to speak on politics,” she stressed. “That’s not an area I’ve ever even imagined getting into. It’s not why I became who I am.”
