The Beast of Mossy Bottom Trailer: Watch

Aardman Animation and Studiocanal just dropped a new trailer and poster for Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, and it is packed with movie-in-jokes and groan-worthy puns.

The third feature in the claymation franchise, following Shaun The Sheep Movie (2015) and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (2019), is a family-friendly horror spoof. Shaun and the flock are looking forward to Halloween. But thanks to mad scientist and some dodgy experimentation, there is a harry creature on the loose, threatening to ruin the party.

The trailer (see below), in a rapid-fire gag fest, manages to slip in references to horror classics Night of the Living Dead, Dracula, Frankenstein, and Psycho, among others. The voice offer promises plenty of “sheep thrills and some wooly good fun.”

Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the directorial debut of long-serving Aardman animation collaborators Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, directing from a script by Mark Burton (Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-rabbit, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon) and Giles Pilbrow, a writer for the Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom TV series.

Justin Fletcher returns as the bleating voice of Shaun and the flock, joined by John Sparkes, and Kate Harbour as voice talent in the dialog-free feature.

Aardman Studios, founded by Peter Lord and David Sproxton and made famous by multi-Oscar winning animator Nick Park (Wallace & Gromit), is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a series of events highlighting the craft and legacy of the studio.
