CNN Original Series will examine the often fraught relationship between FBI directors and the presidents they serve in Standoff: The FBI, Power and Paranoia, set to debut next month.
Two episodes will premiere at 9 p.m. ET/PT on March 22, and the final two episodes will air the following Sunday, March 29. Episodes will be available to stream the next day.
Among those featured will be James Comey and his account of his clash with Donald Trump in his first term. Episodes also will look at J. Edgar Hoover’s relationship with Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton and Louis Freeh. It also will examine the collaboration between George W. Bush and Robert Mueller after 9/11.
Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent, CNN Originals, and creative development for CNN Worldwide, said in a statement, “By examining moments when the FBI’s independence was tested at the highest levels of government, this series gives viewers vital context for understanding how American institutions function under pressure, and why those moments continue to resonate today.”
Entelis serves as executive producer along with Katie Hinman and Eric Johnson for CNN Original Series.
