The children’s animation phenomenon CoComelon has unveiled a first look image and the voice cast for CoComelon: The Movie, an upcoming Universal Pictures movie set for a Feb. 19, 2027 theatrical release.
The big screen CG animated treatment based on the popular kids show will follow JJ, his friends, and a new cast of characters will be voiced by SZA, Ike Barinholtz, Nicholas Hoult and Sarah Sherman. Also set to voice new characters is Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby and Cristo Fernández.
In addition, Connor Esterson will voice JJ, Camden Brooks will voice Cody, Olivia London Leyva will voice Nina and Aerina DeBoer will voice CeCe on CoComelon: The Movie. Moonbug Entertainment, the company behind the hit preschool show, and Flywheel Media are behind the animated CoComelon feature film based on the original CoComelon channel on YouTube that became a sensation in the last 2010s.
Also producing is Prime Focus Studios, DreamWorks Animation, and with animation completed by the DNEG Group. Kat Good (Kung Fu Panda) will direct the feature and Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Justin Tranter is the executive music producer for a film based on the popular preschool series known for its vivid animation and a focus on earworm sing-along songs.
CoComelon includes spin-offs like Netflix’s CoComelon Lane — the streamer’s first foray into original programming with Moonbug Entertainment — Cody Time, Nina’s Familia and JJ’s Animal Time.
Moonbug is part of Candle Media, which is run by co-chairmen and co-CEOs Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, with backing from investment funds managed by Blackstone’s private equity business. Flywheel Media was launched by Don McGregor and is at work on The Angry Birds Movie 3, set for a release by Paramount Pictures in 2027.
