Prime Video is welcoming you to Barry’s Bay.
The streamer released the first trailer on Tuesday for their Every Year After series starring Sadie Soverall and Matt Cornett. The series is adapted from Carley Fortune’s 2002 bestselling novel, Every Summer After.
Fortune’s romance story is told over the course of six years and highlights a summer spent in “the quintessential lake town” Barry’s Bay. The story centers on Percy and Sam, best friends who embark on a complicated love story.
“Every Year After is a romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever,” according to Prime Video description of the series.
Soverall and Cornett star as Percy and Sam, respectively.
In the trailer, Soverall’s Percy makes a return to Barry’s Bay, where she anticipates reuniting with the Florek brothers, Sam and Charlie. Throughout the trailer, her return complicates things as feelings come to light, and Sam and Percy’s unresolved love story possibly gets a second chance — without some road blocks along the way.
“When I’m with her, I don’t think,” Cornett’s Sam confesses as he fights his feelings for Percy.
“Love can be hard to find, so if you’re lucky enough to find person, never let go,” Percy is overheard saying in the trailer.
Aurora Perrineau, Abigail Cowen, Michael Bradway, Joseph Chiu and Elisha Cuthbert also star.
Amy B. Harris serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Fortune, Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens and Grace Gilroy as executive producers.
Every Year After marks the streamer’s latest release in their book-to-screen storytelling pipeline. Prime Video will be holding their “Obsessed Fest,” which serves as Prime Book Club’s first live activation to amplify the voices of authors, talent and creators at the center of the streamer’s book-to-screen journeys. The one-day immersive fan event, taking place on June 27 in Los Angeles at nya Studios, will feature and celebrate upcoming titles including Every Year After.
The Amazon Original series will debut all eight episodes on June 10.
