After a four-year hiatus, Blake Lively returned to the Met Gala carpet on Monday — with reason to celebrate.
The star — wearing archival Versace — last attended fashion‘s biggest night in 2022, when she was among the night’s co-chairs. This year, she walked the carpet just hours after it was announced that she had settled a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni over sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us, after years of legal wrangling.
“The end product – the movie It Ends With Us – is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” the two sides said in a joint statement announcing the deal. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.”
The statement added, “We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online.” The deal means that Lively and Baldoni avert a trial in a case that has captivated Hollywood and sparked a web of lawsuits over the shooting and public relations machinations behind It Ends With Us.
Lively stopped to chat with Vogue on the carpet and made no mention of the big news, but revealed that her bag featured art from her four kids, whom she shares with Ryan Reynolds. The 2026 Met Gala is being co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour under the theme of “Costume Art,” with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos as honorary chairs.
