will have some company on stage next month in Cannes.
Robbie Williams and PinkPantheress have joined the program for the amfAR Gala Cannes at the iconic Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc on May 21, joining the previously announced Swedish pop star as performers. The glitzy fundraiser, which supports the organization’s biomedical research program, always comes at the tail end of the Cannes Film Festival. Per the organization, tickets are almost sold out.
The outing for Williams comes after the critically acclaimed experimental biopic Better Man about his life, which recreated his life story, meteoric rise and personal challenges using a CGI monkey. After the May outing, he’ll set off on dates for his Britpop Tour in support of his album of the same name. He’s got dates kicking off in June and continuing through November.
PinkPantheress will be fresh from Coachella as she hit the desert in Indio, Calif. last weekend. She continues with a round of performances on her An Evening With…PinkPantheress Tour with dates in the United States through mid-May before heading overseas with stops in the U.K., France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and more this summer.
The black-tie gala will once again feature a live auction of luxury goods, rare experiences and artwork led by noted auctioneer Simon de Pury as well as a fashion show curated by longtime supporter and fashion world insider Carine Roitfeld.
The amfAR gala in Cannes dates back to 1993, when Elizabeth Taylor, who was founding international chairman, hosted it at the luxe hideaway Moulin de Mougins. Since then, the fundraiser has netted $314 million in support of the organization and its efforts to fight AIDS.
